The Opportunity:
This position is ideal for an HR Coordinator, HR Assistant, Recruiting Coordinator, Payroll Administrator, Office Manager with HR responsibilities, or early-career HR professional seeking the opportunity to broaden their experience and take ownership of a full range of human resources responsibilities.

As the primary Human Resources professional for the organization, you will support recruitment, on-boarding, employee relations, payroll administration, compliance, and performance management while working closely with experienced organizational leadership who will provide guidance, mentorship, and support.

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and offer preparation.
  • Maintain applicant tracking processes and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and support workforce planning.
  • Develop recruitment pipelines through community partnerships, educational institutions, professional networks, and online recruiting platforms.
  • Coordinate interview schedules and maintain timely communication with candidates.
Employee On-boarding & Off-boarding:
  • Facilitate all on-boarding activities, including employment documentation, policy acknowledgments, orientation, and system access coordination.
  • Ensure personnel files are complete, organized, and compliant with applicable requirements.
  • Coordinate employee separations, exit documentation, and off-boarding procedures.
HR Administration & Compliance:
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
  • Assist with policy administration and employee communications.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Track required certifications, acknowledgments, evaluations, and employment-related documentation.
  • Assist with audits and reporting requirements as needed.
Payroll & Benefits Support:
  • Review employee timecards and assist with payroll preparation and reconciliation.
  • Track employee leave balances and paid time off usage.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment and employee benefit communications.
  • Serve as a resource for routine payroll and benefits questions.
Performance Management & Employee Relations:
  • Support the administration of employee evaluations and performance review cycles.
  • Assist supervisors with documentation, goal tracking, and performance improvement processes.
  • Monitor completion of evaluations and performance-related documentation.
  • Help maintain consistent performance management practices throughout the organization.
  • Serve as a professional and approachable point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
Special Projects:
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives.
  • Support handbook and policy updates.
  • Participate in process improvement projects related to HR operations.
  • Provide administrative support for organizational development initiatives.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Payroll Administration, Employee Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based business applications.
Preferred:
  • Experience in education, nonprofit, or small to midsize organizations.
  • Experience supporting payroll administration or employee benefits.
  • Familiarity with performance management processes.
  • Basic bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification.

Additional Information:
This position is primarily based in Tempe, Arizona and requires regular on-site attendance. Occasional travel to other school locations within Arizona may be required.
